taking medication on a water fast

I am curious about taking my prescribed daily thyroid medication while being on a water fast.
Does taking the pill each morning break the fast when the pill hits my stomach.
Not sure if the digestion process begins when my stomach receives the pill into it.
I would hate not to take my medication but then again hate breaking the fast each morning.

This is a reply to # 1,922,771it surely isn't the most affordable thing, but True North Health is a clinic where you can do supervised fast. It will be safer given that taking daily medication is not something you can stop cold turkey.

And are you taking thyroxine?
If not which medication is it?
