Many, many, in the Cutler groups use ALA alone, especially the autistic kids.
Using a little DMSA, even half as much as the ALA often reduces sfx of ALA and tends to increase excretion of Hg according to Cutler. When using it alone you may want to take it a bit more frequently, especially in the beginning. LA will likely move Hg *into* the brain if not used properly and in the weeks after
Amalgam removal. More on this if you request.
Don't forget the supporting supplements--C E Se Zn Mg, etc.
Not surprised about your experience with Edta. Cutler strongly discourages its use when Hg is involved! He thinks it makes Hg more toxic to the brain and he is certainly not alone in that view.
