***If I used 4 T. Potassium Iodide in a 2oz. bottle, added distilled water, shook it, and there are no crystals left at the bottom is it NOT saturated solution?? ***
Last time I made a batch I used too much crystal - there was well over 1/4" crystals left at the bottom, which remained.

I suppose it could be saturated, right at the edge of letting some remain undissolved, but hard to be sure. Do you have any potassium iodide left that you could add in small amounts till you get just a bit left over that won't dissolve?

This is a reply to # 1,915,178Yes, I added some today, maybe too late? I have been gone from home a few days - read your response this morning. I added a few grains, then a few more...dissolved right away, so add more?
What about the 1/4" left in the last batch? Was it right to have dumped them?

This is a reply to # 1,915,829Yes, add more. It's not too late. As far as dumping the previous 1/4" left over, that's probably a Trapper question, but offhand I don't think I would have dumped it. Just add more water and continue. It's probably preferable to start each batch fresh, but in an accident, I'd use the liquid I could and then add water and shake/stir till just a bit was left in the bottom of the container to indicate continued saturation.

The grains I have added have all disappeared, so I will continue until some remain. Wish I had known to keep what was left from last batch...this is good to know for future. I may have gone scanty this time for fear of another 1/4" at the bottom...am trying to make this what is left of 125 g. stretch - barely only one 2 oz. batch left. I am pretty steadily at 9-10 drops per day. Next month it is one year since starting SSKI ...will post update then.
