Cutler discourages its use for chelation. Studies that were done used regular ALA. R-ALA might be better for many uses but we are using it for the fact that it converts to DHLA, the actual dithiol chelator of As and Hg. http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocenter/othernuts/la/lastructure.html
Thank you for your response. Where in the Cutler manual did you find this information? It's funny, I felt like I was chelating more heavily using R-LA than I have with ALA
