In over 43 years of being into herbology as a practitioner, I've tripped through studying all the trendy diets, colonics, reflexology, iridology, bio-kinesiology, etc, etc, etc. All the time I was studying those "sciences", I was looking for a way to integrate these systems with a proper application of herbs. In other words, I needed a system of analysis that would integrate the use of herbs with it. None of the aforementioned systems did that. In fact, I found much quackery in the so-called sciences.
I digress.
However, in the past twenty years, I was on a path to discover many of the Chinese methods. Pulse and tongue diagnosis was developed over 3,000 years as a way of integrating phenomenological analysis of the body's systems with proven knowledge of the herb kingdom, both western and eastern. (Herbs know no nationalistic/political boundaries.) However, not all schools of Chinese herbology teach a proper method of analysis. Some of their own methods are subject to scrutiny.
When learned properly, Chinese analysis and herbology gives the best customized treatment of anything I've ever experienced in all my years of studies. It's not the over-the-counter products that is so prevalent, but a truly customized system that pin points a person's specific needs.
I'll explain more if there's interest here.
