my questions (as the title says) about accutane.
I wanted to know what you know about this drug, the side effects, etc.
Can it cause permanent damage? Effects on the nervous system?

I took accutane twice about 15 years ago. For the past 5 years I have been dealing with the consequences, trying to repair the damage. Essentially, accutane ruins your digestive tract. I mean obliterates it. Do some research about accutane, which causes Crohns and inflammatory bowel disease. I ended up with a colon riddled with pockets of inflamed polyps. This chronic inflammation crashed my adrenals.... The list of horrible consequences on my health is long; I won't bore you.
There are many ways to cure your acne. I urge you to help your body heal.
By the way--the accutane never cured my acne, hence the 2 rounds.

I took it 12 years ago. I have now IBS, lot of flushing in the face, rosacea, etc.
The problems started after some drugs course, accutane was one of them.

This is a reply to # 1,889,588Accutane is one of the most dangerous drugs I've seen.
It works primarily by inhibiting sebum production. But, excess sebum is often caused by androgens, which can be broken down with bitters, prebiotics, and probiotics.- Re: Accutane maskedhombre

This is a reply to # 1,889,987The worst part is that the derm prescribed me accutane as I was a teenager (15 years old or smth), for a MODERATE acne. But at this time, it was already the bestseller drug... and nobody knew about the side-effects.
I think this is not the kind of pill you give to a teen which has some pimples.
Everything disappeared, but what a price...

Accutane (isotretinoin) can definitely cause neurological damage. These include depression, aggression, hallucinations, headache, nervousness, seizures, pseudotumor cerebri, insomnia, psychosis, and personality disorders.
Numerous other side effects can occur with the use of accutane including hearing loss, vision problems, hepatitis, pancreatitis, kidney issues, inflammatory bowel disease, bone loss, etc.
Most side effects will disappear with discontinuation, but some can be permanent.
