This is like a grownup's version of the original living 'flashlight': fireflies in a jar, when first seen coming through the pitch-black daytime dark of a hut!

I like huts! Of all kinds. I think I'd like glass in mine, but one would have to be careful of all the freezing and thawing, where I live. It would be daily, in mid winter. Yes, I think it would NOT work. Ah, well. There is always the super size pop bottle, which I would have to forage: it is that rare in my domain. :-) And then, what about smaller ones, well-aimed, for task lighting?
As the commentator says, with lower electrical bills, there is more money for books, nutrition... That's what "permaculture" is all about--in my view. Not only food forests and composting toilets and al the wonderful stuff that supports 'this body' (X 7 billion), and treats this earth with kindness... It's about the big(ger?) picture that sees there IS enough for all--it just needs to be more sanely, justly and simply redistributed, whatever form 'it' takes. It needs to be seen as pure energy first--that can be redirected, or increased, by passing through what some call the optical heart. Van Morrison sings: "if my heart could do the thinking, and my head begin to feel, then I'd look upon the world anew, and know what's truly real." I think this is from the song: I forgot that love existed, on the album Poetic Champions Compose.
