We are in need of help insofar as ordering a urine test for pyrolle disorder.
This is for my wife who was referred to Quest Diagnostics but they seem to not know where/how to collect and handle this test.
Can anyone suggest the names of labs EXPERIENCED with KP testing that we might try - we can take the doctor's order to any lab/draw station.
But we want a recommended lab firm who is familiar with and can properly handle this test order. Thanks.
(I know..the ordering doctor's office SHOULD be able to handle this but...this is not realistic in this instance.)

Quest sends the test out to Biocenter. Its a royal PITA to get it done. I had to get the vial with ascorbic acid in it from Biocenter as Quest couldn't for some reason. I froze the sample then took it into my local quest who had to send it to a lady in the refurral dept who in turn sent it where it should have gone. I had to talk to everyone at every step of the way though to get it done. We did get it though in the end.

You may have to educate them but yes they can get the test done. I had to prove it to them with the above link. Are you in CA by chance?

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,858,399Based on my (limited) experience - you can cut out the middle guy; as of late-2010, you can order the test directly from Biocenter and submit the sample to them. I ordered directly from the Biocenter website and, fortunately - had no real logistical problems.
I hope OP was able to figure something out.
