Hi, 6 fish oil capsules to start omega3 supplementation is way too much....You have to get your digestion used to it by adding one additional capsule per day,
once you are used to a certain dosage.
For example, start with one capsule the first day. If you feel no discomfort, add one more the next day. Wait until you are used to that dosage to add more capsules per day.
Otherwise, you are overwhelming you digestive system.
You can even take mega doses of omega 3 , 10 - 15 grams per day (used in
Depression and other mental problems), but you have to take one step at the time.
If the fish oil is not of good quality, you can feel the burps. But there are other reasons, some people have no problems at all with any dosage, like me, but other people have to
take it before meals.
One other way to avoid a reaction is to
freeze the capsules to avoid digestion in the stomach. That way the pass to the small intestine and f you don’t feel any burps.
There are some enteric coated fish oils you can find in the market.
Finally, there are alternatives to fish oil, like cod liver oil and krill oil that may be better for your stomach. Please, read
