Hi,
I just don't know where to begin, I'm half-dead. I learnt, just recently, that all my problems are due to Amalgam fillings. I have only 2 of them, but along the years I changed them twice and I even swallowed some of the Amalgam. I just had them replaced with composite fillings.
I started doing chelation, I take PectaSol Chelation Complex (Modified Alginate and Modified Citrus Pectin) from Jarrow Formulas called ToxGuard.
I take 3-4 daily, I take alive multivitamin which gives me headache and makes me feel wierd.
I also take Milk Thitsle, Olive leaf Extract, fish oil and astaxanthin.
Now I want do the ALA oral chelation every 3 hours? how much should I be taking 100mg or 150mg?
and please tell me if PectaSol Chelation Complex will remove the mercury out of my body? even the brain?
I can't have DMSA or DMPS, we don't have them where I live :(

Use lots of antioxidants and wait 3 months prior to introduce ALA as a major chelator.
Read Andy Cutler's protocol. It's safest and most effective way for removing mercury.

This is a reply to # 1,846,736Pectasol does seem to do something but how effective, i'm not sure. I have heard different results but they all seem very similar to chelation experiences with DMSA or DMPS and others.

Thanks, I live in Egypt. I heard that DMSA has many side effects, unlike PectaSol which just makes me tired and sleepy.
If you are saying that they are both have the same results then I'm happy with PectaSol :)
How long would it take to get that mercury out of my body?

This is a reply to # 1,846,783It took me about 6 months of chelation (with cilantro and chlorella) before I began feeling better. It took my friend a bit longer to feel better using the Cutler Protocol.
How long it takes to get the metals out would depend on the method you use, how much metal is in your body and other individual circumstances. It would likely take months if not years. The fact that you only had 2 fillings suggests it won't take you as long as me (12 fillings) to get the mercury out.
I've never tried Pectasol, so I can't really comment on it's effectiveness.
You might also look for foods which boost glutathione production in your body. It's your body's natural chelator. Drinking lots of clean water helps with chelating too. I can't vouch for the cleanliness of Egyptian "purified" water though. I didn't seem to have any trouble when I was drinking it while I was on vacation in Egypt.Advertisement

This is a reply to # 1,846,815Thanks, I have a filteration system because I don't trust purified bottled water and YOU SOULDN'T :) lol. Also, I can't afford it. Anyway, I just installed that system few months ago.
What makes things worse is that I swallowed some of the Amalgam twice before, and my dentist is like every other dentist in Egypt he doesn't know how to safely remove the amalgam. he just "did it".
But the environment in Egypt is full of every possible toxin and bad thing you can imagine. the food, the water, the air and some other stuff like those fillings and so on.
I can't afford the hair analysis (over $500) so I want take natural chelators with a multivitamin and minerals. Which I doAdvertisement

This is a reply to # 1,846,652I'd agree with zlatin's post. Also add vit c which helps recirculate glutathione and perhaps add selenomethionine to your mix of supplements. But wait for your system to settle before trying ALA.

Actually, I'm hypoT and my body temp is very low. To make things worse my eyes are severely dry, so I can barely read the posts. I tried to read the culter protocol but I just can't :(
Should I take 100mg of ALA every 3 hours for 3 days on and 3 days off for 10 rounds?
I take zinc picolinate 50mg, selenium 100mcg to 200, 250 to 400 magnesium chelate. Also vitamin C around 2,000 to 3,000 and I take alot more supps :) lol- Re: Is PectaSol Chelation effective? pawel110

This is a reply to # 1,846,852After your Amalgams have been removed the protocol maintained by A Cutler is DMSA for 3 months then add ALA.
If not using DMSA you must still wait 3 months because ALA will stir up even more mercury possibly leading to greater redistribution and possible damage.
So continue for the time being with Se, Vit C etc for the 1st 3 Months.
Then you can start proper rounds with ALA.
Start off with smaller doses so that you can be sure that your body can handle it (it may mean splitting capsules)
When I introduced ALA after 3 months I started with 25mg capsules.
3 days on 4 days off (weekly made it easier) 25mg ALA every 3 hours.
After a month I decided to try 50mg capsules and I was fine and 2 months later went to 100 mg capsules.

After youve waited for 3 months then you can start ALA - the length of time you continue to do rounds of 3 days on depends on you and how you feel. Generally people continue until they feel better which could be 3 months or 3 years - it depends on how toxic you are.If you can buy empty capsules you can also split the 50mg capsules to smaller doses.

From what i can tell according to Andy Cutler, during the first 3 months after your amalgam removal your body will naturally start to offload mercury.
Starting rounds of ALA too soon ie - during the first 3 months may result in intracellular mercury being released. This on top of the mercury that is naturally being cleared away is thought to potentially overload the organs especially the liver & can lead to redistribution which means that mercury redeposits itself elsewhere in the body without being cleared.
So better to wait!Advertisement

Ok great, I will take Toxguard for those 3 months ( I just had them removed last week) and then I will add the ALA.
Enzymatic Therapy has a product called Complete Metal Cleanse, I don't know if I should take it or not.
something wierd happened before and I think now I understand it.
I tried to take Alive multivitamin before, and by the second day I used to feel very bad and sick. It has 500mg of
Green Food/Spirulina Blend:
Spirulina (microalgae); Alfalfa (leaf, stem); Barley Grass (grass); Dandelion (leaf); Wheat Grass (grass); Melissa (leaf); Lemon Grass (grass); Nettle (leaf); Blessed Thistle (stem, leaf, flower); Chlorella (broken-cell microalgae); Plantain (leaf); Blue Green Algae (microalgae); Cilantro (leaf)
I think even though this is only 500mg, it made me sick while I had the Amalgam fillings. NOW I'm on my 3rd day and I feel fine :)

This is a reply to # 1,847,388Cilantro is a chelator. I can guess that the cilantro in the supplement you are taking was pulling mercury out of your fillings, and that was why you felt bad when you still had your fillings in. That's my guess, though I can't be 100% certain.

Yes that's what I think myself, because once I got them out I don't get sick when I take it. Actually, I think it's helping.
Alive contains alot of vege and fruit extracts, so they help.

This is a reply to # 1,847,590I think a lot of people with heavy metal problems have felt the same way you felt before: worried, frustrated and depressed about their unknown health problem. I know I sure did, especially after so many doctors could do nothing to really help me. There are really few things worse than feeling bad and not knowing why.
It wasn't until I started doing my own research and my own treatment that I really began to feel better.
FWIW, I think you're on the right track now. Get the mercury out of your system and see how you feel. Inshallah, that will take care of your troubles.

This is a reply to # 1,847,777Thanks Eric, it's just so depressing. I left work few years ago because my eyes are severely dry. When I say severely I mean it's like a rock, I spend 10 minutes at the morning to try opening them. The rest of the day I can barely read anything.
When I take 100mg to 150mg of zinc I feel much better, do you know if that's related to heavy metals in any way???
