Still completely Blasto symptom free!!!!
I honestly think I beat it...I feel to normal. All those symptoms that plagued me are no longer here.
The treatment was a pain to order, wait for it to come, and taking it. BUT so worth it!
I did the 2nd line treatment of Nitazoxanide, Furazolidone, & Secnidazole. I also added Doxycycline for added insurance. This was recommended per Jackie of badbugs. It's recommended if you have d.frag too.
My stool results 'only' showed blasto. But I figured it couldn't hurt.
It's weird because the further away I get from having blasto the harder it is to remember how I felt. I can't remember 8 months of my life, I was so sick. I could hardly function. For once I'm beginning to feel like I'm living again.
I was worried about reinfection - so my family and I moved. We moved because the blasto was in our well water. For some reason the filter got contaminated or wasn't working right. We moved when I started treatment. Anyhow, if just feels good to not be sick or have those crazy symptoms anymore. This has got to be the most horrible sickness I've ever experienced. You feel like your dying slowly. The symptoms progress and progress and you feel so helpless as these symptoms rule your body. Then the only way to barely function is to eat a very strict diet. That's no fun when there are birthday parties and holidays. It's just depressing.
Anyhow...I wanted to update on my progress. I'm feeling very sure I won this battle. Will have stool test done soon.
The only issue I'm having is loss of appetite. I kept a great diet during treatment. But around the last day I lost my appetite. This has continued until today. I didn't lose too much weight with blasto. I lost most of weight after treatment. I can eat anything...but I just get full really quick, and you can't force yourself to eat (it doesn't work).
Another issue I had is...
July 4th I woke up not feeling too well. I felt fatigue and unwell. Then later that day I developed bad joint pain in my right knee. Not as bad as blasto but I did have joint pain. I also had a headache and some blurred vision. Immediately I got 'VERY' depressed. I was so sad and bad tempered. I thought blasto was coming back.
We went to the 4th of July fireworks and I tried to be happy but it was hard.
Then the next morning July 5th, I woke up with a very swollen tongue. It was redder than usual and had fissures (deep lines). It was very puffy and burned and tingled. This alarmed me because never in my life have I had tongue issues. I went to our homeopathic doctor - who said he knew exactly what this was...the headache, fatigue, joint pain, and swollen tongue. He said the swollen tongue gave it away. He said I had a severe Vitamin B deficiency brought on by the meds. He gave me some strong B vitamins and told me to stay on them with the maximum dosage. After taking just 2 doses of B Vitamins ALL symptoms disappeared.
This further leads me to believe you HAVE to do electrolytes after treatment as normal water doesn't seem to be enough. The meds seem to completely mess up your vitamin and mineral balance. Which can make you feel bad.
I have mentioned this in several of my other posts. The treatment is hard on the body - I didn't realize this until after I took the meds. I had major muscle weakness I couldn't do simple stuff like brushing teeth or hair without needing a break. The cure for this electrolytes (WATER IS NOT ENOUGH). I drank coconut water because it's all natural and has more vitamins and minerals than the stuff at the store. Drinking this got my muscle strength back. I haven't lost the muscle strength I've gained. So it doesn't come and go. But it does take days of drinking it to feel improvement.
Since drinking electrolytes often and taking a good mulitvitamin, and Lots of B vits, I feel the best yet since after treatment. I know I said this before but I can eat what I want and I feel normal again. Better yet...my body acts normal again.
Will update periodically. :)
Good luck to you about to start the therapy.
