I got some white chia a few years ago, all excited and experimented with them a bit. I think it's a personal thing, honestly. If I were an Aztec runner or an Australian Aborigine, or even a white person (as I am) going walkabout, or "singing up the land " (a la "Songlines")
I'd be be holding them as precious. For me, personally, ( a ludicrous idea, this "me", but there ya go) they didn't quite connect. I gave them away. But I do believe them to be a wondrous food. I think every person's experience adds something crucial to the 'pot'.

Today, there is an incidence of diabetes among some Native American tribes of approximately 47%. I'm absolutely loving my chia seeds! I always take a big salad to work with me, but usually end up hungry 2 hours later. I have started taking a quart bottle mixture of water, lemon juice, stevia, and 4-6 Tablespoons of chia seeds with me to work...I sip on it all day long. No more hunger pangs after my salad now and I can make it through work without being tempted to snack on other things or get a cup of coffee to supress my appetite. AMAZING!!
