This is a very good point. I never did believe the theory that the body will burn more fat (3x more fat is the specific claim) when dry fasting (as compared to water-only fasting) as a means of digging for and freeing up more water. I've seen mention of the theory in a couple of places, but never with any literature to support it, though that doesn't mean such literature doesn't possibly exist. In my own experience, my body will begin to dehydrate while there is still ample fat.
I believe in the benefits of dry fasting, i just don't believe that extra fat is burned to produce more water :). I do however remain open and solid evidence can certainly sway me.
