Bathing the kitten will remove the saliva from her fur and help your allergies immensely. It is the protein in the saliva that causes us fits. I am allergic to cats, or so my allergist told me a long time ago, but I happily co-exist with four cats!! I bathe them when I start to sneeze really bad. You can use any gentle baby shampoo. If you start getting Heidi use to baths & nail clipping now, she'll be so used to both that she'll be good as gold during pedicures and baths. I also found that if I start to sneeze a lot, it's because I've got dander covered fur all over me. The solution that works like a charm for me is to get out of those clothes -- throw 'em in the wash and take a shower. Usually I stop sneezing as soon as I'm out of the clothes.

The technique I have found that works for bathing cats is:

1) Have shampoo (dilute some in water and put it in an empty squeeze bottle) and towels (at least 3 large towels -- thicker is better) and a washcloth ready.
2) For a kitten, kitchen sink works great, for adult cats, I use the tub with a long hose shower/sprayer attachment that reaches the tub.
3) Get cat in the bathroom and CLOSE THE DOOR.
4) Turn the water on and get to the right temp and turn on sprayer, adjust water flow so it's not too forceful to hurt or scare but strong enough to actually rinse the shampoo out.
5) Lay the hose in the tub or loop around faucet to keep from spraying walls, and floor
6) Get cat, cuddle and talk to it as you move towards the tub. Make sure you have a firm grip on the scruff of the neck as you set the cat in the tub.
7) With your free hand wet the cat down, lean over every now and then to nuzzle the top of his head.
8) Put down the hose, secure it so it doesn't spray the cat
9) Apply shampoo to cat from head to tail and tummy to feet.
10) Lean over to nuzzle if the cat starts to struggle or cries a lot. Continue to talk soothingly and reassuringly to the cat.
11) Rinse the cat. Use the wash cloth to rinse the soap off of head and wipe water off face. It may take several rinsing of the washcloth to do this though.
12)Run hand over the cat to make sure there aren't any suds left behind.
13)After you're done rinsing and the water is turned off, use your hand to squeege the excess water from the cat's coat.
14) Wrap up in a big towel and just hold the cat for a bit. This will help calm the cat and when the towel is completely saturated with water, it's time to switch towels. After the second towel is damp, the cat should be ready to be fluffed. Take the third towel and lightly fluff the fur, just like you'd dry a dog off.
15) If the weather is hot, let the cat go to find a sunny place to warm up, if the weather is on the cool side, wrap him up in a blanket or set him by a heater or stove to dry off and warm up. You can also try the hair dryer. If you have one that isn't too loud or too hot, the cat might let you dry him with it. Fluff the fur while you wave the dryer back and forth.

I've used the above for the past 30 years on my cats and the trick is to start with them as kittens.
