i have been reading up on this group only for a week or so..i have gained about 30-40 lbs since i have had my mirean in and the dr told me this was not the cause but considring the stuff most of u guys r goign thru i think a lil weight gain isnt so bad...it is so scary reading ur posts seein what this "devil" as most call it can really do to ones body..i am having mine removed tomorrow and hopeing that i dont get the side effects..i dont know if i am more scared to take it out or leave it in...thank u so much for sharing all of ur nightmares and it really helps ppl understand just how bad this thing can make ur life on a daily basis...has anyone had it interfer with their bowels in any way...sorry but i have not had a solid poop in almost 2 years..after much testing they say there is nothing wrong..most times i never even get thru a meal b4 i am runnin to the br...Advertisement

It's definitely more scary to leave it in! It is very rare to find a Dr. who will validate our symptoms. Many of us have had it removed even if our Dr. fully doesn't believe the Mirena can cause problems. But we know our bodies, and this IUD can definitely mess them up.

This is a reply to # 1,797,973so i went in today to the dr to get this evil thing taken out and dont u suppose he could not get at the strings so now i have to go to day surgery and get frozen..he says my cervix is very tight...he really tried to talk to me into kjeeping it in...i am goign on 36 and hubby is 39..we have a 16 yr old son and a 5.5 yrold son..pretty sure i do not want anymore so he suggested tubal liagation with the 2mm flitche(?) clips..anyone know how good this is?- Re: scary stuff Bass81

This is a reply to # 1,797,992Hi, I don't know how good a tubal is (other than my Mom had one when I was a kid and it worked for her!) However, just wanted to let you know that loose bowels were one of my big problems with Mirena, and actually the first thing to go wrong before so many other problems popped up. Mirena could certainly be affecting you this way. I am nearing two-years post-removal, and for the last year, my digestion has slowly gotten more normal. So it may take awhile after removal to feel better, but chances are you'll get there! Good luck!- Re: scary stuff Mommagert

i actually went on another chat forum and was lookign at the posts about tubal liagation and appaerntly its not much better then mirena...only this one costs over 3000.00 to get reversed as opposed as goignt o dr and gettign them to tak eit out...really bad peroids and severe cramping during that time..there is a list of about 48 side effects and none i want to have anythign to do with...prob just go woth the patch and be done with it....- Re: scary stuff nomirena

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,798,087I looked into the new tubal with the clamps, no way after I read the various blogs. Looks like it can be as bad as Mirena ! My hairdresser had severe problems from the patch, made her crazy...some of the same mental issues that Mirena causes. I would be careful with that one also.
