Sometimes when things go badly for a day or two in a row, I get a low mood - so today at my kitchen table I listed a few things to look forward to tomorrow.
It's sort of this: since we can't look forward to yummy treats tomorrow, or even having energy, well, what can I look forward to? Not trying to sound corny here, but maybe some of you can relate. Sooo...I didn't intend much, but when I did them all, my mood did lift:
-A flavor of the day for tomorrow's smoothie, for example, vanilla extract. Yes it has naughty alcohol in it, but not much, and for the flavor lift it'll be worth it. That plus unsweetened almond milk, ice, and stevia = vanilla shake.
-A different sprinkle for tomorrow's yeast-free "toast": nutmeg, instead of my usual cinnamon
-While writing this list, I rubbed a little artificial flavor/extract under my nose that smells like a food I love, if you can picture this: indulging in banana cream pie just by inhaling the aroma of banana from under my nose (wierd, but it helps)
-Made a grocery list of things actually allowed on this diet that I haven't had in awhile to use to shake things up tomorrow (raw snow peas are nice and crunchy, forgot about those for the past several weeks)
-Did a coffee enema, those sometimes lift my mood for a half hour or so
-Dripped a drop of peppermint essential oil on my toothbrush to brush with, makes mouth extremely pepperminty which feels good
-Had a cup of raspberry zinger tea, which does not contain any actual fruit, only "natural flavors", whatever those are, but again, helped in a small way.
Ok, so here it is bedtime, and my mood is better than it was an hour ago. Plus I have a list of a few things to wake up to tomorrow.
Things aren't always this desperate in my house, just had a bad couple of days healthwise. Optimism is back now. :-)
