Hi there. I decided to start oil pulling two days ago, and wasn't able to do it very long. I lasted for only about 12 minutes, and I used peanut oil (I know not a great choice). Well on the 2nd day, almost exactly 24 hours later, I noticed that my forehead was very itchy. Well I looked in the mirror and I have a rash mostly on both temples, and in the middle of my forehead. It's not red, but there are lots of tiny little bumps (they appear rash-like, not acne-like) and are very itchy. From doing some reading online I decided it must be from the toxins being released, so I decided to keep up with the oil pulling, skipped the one day, and started again this morning. This time I used sesame oil, and only did it for about 10 minutes. Well a few hours later the rash is now along my jawline and on my neck. It is extremely itchy, almost to the point of pain. Also the rash is worse on my right temple, and right jawline and neck (not sure why this is)... I'm thinking it must be from the oil pulling--I never get rashes and am only allergic to one type of medication, so I don't think it's an allergic reaction to something else. Is this normal to get a rash after only two days of oil pulling? As much as I want to see the benefits of oil pulling, this rash has made me want to not go on with it.
