Hello,
I am doing a water fast, and am on Day 4. Before starting the
Water Fast I did 7 days of juice fasting with juices I made daily in my juicer at home. I have posted on the fasting for weightloss forum about this. I understand that this forum does not necessarily think fasting is appropriate for weightloss, but I do have a weightloss related question. Please don't judge or ignore my question because it is about weightloss. I'm just trying to better understand how the human body works during fasting. I am fasting to cure myself of some addictions [coffee, sugar, and overeating] and to start to get my weight under control. I am reading up about raw diets and other healthier ways of living during the fast, so this is not just a quick fix in my mind.
I started out weighing about 284 lbs at 5'9 tall. I am a 26 year old woman. After
juicing for a few days I went down to around 278. Since I have moved on to just water, I have been losing about 1/2lb per day. I am concened that my slow weightloss is an indication that my metabolism is pretty slow. I have heard of people as heavy as myself losing 2 lbs per day in the begining of a water fast, but I have lost only about 1/2 lb each day for the last two days. Should I try to do light working out [walking 30 minutes] to boost my metabolism or would that be too much on a water fast? Or is this an indication that I should not be fasting and need to work on boosting my metabolism? I don't want to do more damage than good, but I need to release myself from these addictions. Please help.
Thanks
