When I was treating my FBD, I kept the thought in my mind that I was getting rid of a pre-cancerous condition, that was my priority . I went through a spell of being hyper initially(weight loss), then I think I was hypo(cold). I had various aches and pains. My breast hurt quite a bit at times. I had zits. I had various colors of pee and the most disgusting dreams. I went through intense emotional detox.
I have no idea why my period stopped for so long, perhaps I was hyper all that time although it did not seems so. It seemed insignificant to me, getting rid of the FBD was the important thing.
I think it's wonderful that you want to figure it out~ GOOD! We NEED you!
Brownstein states that upon commencing
Iodine supplementation various symptoms of hyper and hypo may manifest early on. I think that the actual balancing act takes a LOT longer than he states. reference. Perhaps I'm assuming that he's talking short-term:

4)Iodine induced hypothyroidism and goiter
"When animals or humans that are
Iodine deficient are given large doses of iodine, there is a TRANSIENT DECREASE in thyroid hormone production(approx. 26-40 hrs.) until the body reestablishes it's equilibrium with iodine. After that, thyroid levels adjust to normal and signs of hypothyroid do not develop.
5)Iodine-induced hyperthyroidism
The use of
Iodine in a previously iodine-deficient population may result in a TRANSIENT INCREASE in thyroid hormones...Studies have shown that the increase in thyroid hormones, which could lead to hyperthyroid symptoms(palpitations, nervousness), will gradually decrease. Can be monitored with lab tests & adjustments in dosage.
