Hi guys, newbie to the forums here.
I've really started getting interested in healthy eating lately and just completed my first 6 day water fast!
The fast itself was a brutal, grueling, experience. I felt it all, sick, nauseous, weak, dizzy... but at the end of it I feel so much healthier. I really got to understand my relationship with food so much better during the period of 6 days. I've been using it as a stimulant, something to pick me up and distract me from boredom. I would eat beyond the point of satiation just because I wanted the sensation of taste.
I broke my fast on Saturday, and since then I've been taking it really slow and been eating really clean. My first day I broke it with broth (vegetable) and a few pieces of cucumber. Since then I've been adding lots of vegetables, and protein slowly to my diet.
The issue is, for the last 2 or 3 days this week, I've literally felt high! It's like a mild form a mania! I'm talkative, and bubbly and smiley. I don't need very much sleep, and I'm moving and doing stuff all the time! This is so completely different from how I was before the fast (low-energy, very introverted, depressed), my family is even looking at me weird. It's gotten to the point where I'm just too hyper and "up" (moodwise) all the time. Is this a passing thing? Will I level out a bit? I'm sort of freaked out right now by this very extreme state of moods!
