You folks are interesting in your learning, I mean, how you learn the mechanics of it, when given information like about iodine, where you can believe or dis-miss it. Yet so many have not dis-missed Iodine and have benefitted immensely.
What is it, that makes people go ahead and take Iodine ? Is it desperation ? Fore-knowledge ? Something else, like the MD's talking writing about it ? the lack of any apparent downside ? Divine inspiration ? A combination of the foregoing ? What ?....... What made you say "Ok, I'll eat 50 mg of Iodine every day" ??

My Doctor (Naturopath) suggested I take the Iodine Loading Test and found I was low in Iodine! But it is not the 50 mg a day Iodoral (Iodine/Iodide) that has made the most difference in my life. It is Trapper's SSKI w/mag that gave me the most benefit.
I'm out of it now and back to taking only the 50 mg of Iodoral. And although I know the Iodoral is helping me long term I don't feel the immediate benefit of "relief" that I felt when I added an additional 450 mg (more or less) of Trappers SSKI w/ Mag. More on that after I start back on the SSKI w/mag and see my symptoms again improve :-)

This is a reply to # 1,746,782I read about using iodine to treat cystic mastitis in 1984 in Dr. Wright's Guide to Healing with Nutrition. Since I had excruciatingly painful fibrocystic breasts only briefly helped by high-dose vitamin E recommended by my doctor, I was drawn to iodine instantly. I just didn't have access to it. I didn't know when Lugol's became available over-the-counter, so the first iodine I used was Iosol, then Iodoral. The Universe kept sending me reminders -- FIND THE IODINE -- and finally I did. It was like coming home.
