I've just had a realisation I have to share. I've also been doing Gerson Therapy for 3 months now (Stage 2 NH Anaplastic Large T-Cell Lymphoma). About a month ago started having acid reflux and so made my meals really simple (ie. mashed potato, Hipp soup and some well cooked veg - no skin) and developed a strong aversion to raw foods (other than in the juices), also stopped eating the rye bread as I thought it was causing acid burps etc.
But I have just discovered that I am severely under active thyroid, and one of the symptoms that goes hand in hand with that is constipation. I've also been noticing that my abdomen is more distended lately and I get a terrible cough in the evening before bed and early morning. When I do first enema of the day the cough disappears and gradually returns by early evening.
And the conclusion...that constipation is actually causing the acid reflux and because I cut out all those high fibre raw foods and rye bread, I have actually been making it worse, not better!
