Without taking sides on the post in question here, I think there may be a misconception which should be pointed out:
Public support forums are not "owned" by anyone. Only the private forums belong to their owners. While the owners of private forums may ban according to their whim and fancy, the moderators of public forums do not own them and should not ban according to anything other than TOS guidelines.
Again, not taking sides. Just clarifying so that members do not get the wrong idea that support forums can be run according to the whim and fancy, or personal bias, of those appointed to moderate them. Moderating a public forum brings with it an obligation to moderate without personal bias and according to TOS and WM guidelines.
