To all who post here....Since Chrisb1 has made himself available to us, I thought I'd start a new Thread of questions for him.
I'll open things up by asking the first questions.....
Chrisb1....I'm about to begin a long Water Fast. I'd like to know how the Body consumes old Cells and replaces them with new. Also, I have a major concern about refeeding after the Fast is terminated. Do you think a combination of Celery Juice and Wheatgrass Juice would be too concentrated in nutrients for ending the Fast? I plan to make Green Juice a major part of my diet between fasts.

It would take the place of questions.
I am just amazed at how often someone asks Chris questions, and the answers he quotes are in Shelton... and readable, instantly, with little effort.
I wish we would appreciate him for him, (anyone for anyone) and his specific story, and so forth, and for the basics,
read the lit. he suggests!!!(okay, I suggest it, too) :-)

in answer to your first question the body consumes old cells via autolysis. The body is very selective as to what it uses for fuel in the absence of external nourishment by using the least essential first, and preserving the most vital until last.
These cells are replaced when the fast is broken with the nourishment taken at that time and thereafter.
Celery juice with wheat-grass juice would be fine in breaking a fast, even a long fast, but the bodys receptiveness to nourishment depends on whether the return of hunger has been reached or not. In the former the body will easily digest and assimilate food, but in the latter, more care is the order of the day.
Green-juice in-between fasts is commendable in my opinion.

I just got back from using the public Sauna. I was developing a slight headache from Fasting all day, but the heat created an artificial fever, and I feel better now.

It is artificial, as you say. It is,however, a very good means to detoxify (when we are not fasting).
We can use a sauna safely during a short fast or during the first days of an extended fast ONLY. If you use a sauna after the first 4 days while fasting you risk fainting, or any other cardiovascular accident of any seriousness. Keep in mind that the body is keeping your internal temperature. It has to fight to keep your organs not too cold, not too hot..that takes energy, a lot of energy... Sauna would be enervating, or dangerous.
If the body decides to run a fever on its own... Now,that is different.. It would be naturally created by its own internal system.

This is a reply to # 1,732,355I wouldn't undergo a sauna during a Water Fast unless of very short duration.
The heat will prove to be enervating and drain the life-force or what Shelton and the early Hygienists described as "Nerve-Energy".
Any extremes of temperature whether too hot or too cold are profoundly enervating and especially so while water-only-fasting. This was the experience of the early Hygienists as well as my own.
Excessive heat/cold also "checks" elimination as well as depleting the life-force, and therefore is counter-productive in what you are trying to achieve.

Also, there's been some talk about Liver Flushing. How do you feel about it? I'd like to know how you would coordinate Water Fasting and Liver Flushing.....WY- Re: Questions for Chrisb1 chrisb1

This is a reply to # 1,733,125If you are going to undergo a Liver Flush I would attempt it before a water-only-fast.
Personally I would not undergo a Liver Flush as I do not see the need for one personally as the fast (if conducted properly) will cleanse the entire body and especially so if proper living habits are adhered to post fast.
The Liver is one of the Major organs of elimination but once the bulk of toxins have been eliminated the bodily organs will also self cleanse via autolysis.
At the age of 57 I still have a resting pulse of 60 and a blood pressure that varies between 120/80 or slightly below that.
At the end of a long fast when the major organs have been cleansed, the beating of the heart is as clear and as smooth as a bell. There is nothing quite like it except when you compare it with that of a child's beating heart.
