Hello,
I did OP a while back,like a year ago for almost 4 months with sunflower oil. It did help alot with my teeth and stomach ache. I stop doing it and just started again like a month or so and this time with Coconut oil. Three weeks ago,i started coughing up a lot mucus which i believe from my nose ( It happened last time when i OPed too),so i strongly that it was the sign that the OP was working. However, i also experience shortness of breath,and i always feel like something is stuck right at my throat ( i think its the mucus). Just wonder if anyone has the same experience as i have? I just switched back to sunflower oil 2 days ago. Hopefully those "side effects" will go away.

This is a reply to # 1,721,457We believe that Dr. Karach used refined because he was in Russia, and probably did not have access to good oils. It would have been safer to use refined oils.

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,722,534No, I'm saying that when Dr. Karach first started to study this, the only choices for "safe" oil in Russian would have been refined. I think it's just one of those things that have been spewed out by Col. Rao for ages.
Col. Rao (of Oil Pulling.com) emailed me completely pissed that I was saying that we could OP with anything, and that we prefer unrefined, and organic if we could get it. He's very old school as far as I'm concerned.
The guy said he had the original studies of Dr. Karach, and he was going to email me, but instead emailed me and read me the riot act...LOL.
So, knowning what we know about oil, we push the unrefined. But seriously, use what you have. It won't hurt you. Some people here have access to very little variety of oils, so if all you can get is (cringe) Saffola, then go for it.
Does that make sense?

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,721,452I too was op-ing and had some mucus side effects. I've been coughing up far more mucus than I even knew I had in me, since my sinuses are usually pretty clear. But the right side of my head clogged up and I developed a sinus headache that lingered for several days (until I went to an accupuncturist). I started taking Colloidal Silver (in nasal spray form), and that seemed to help clear things out a bit, and I layed off on the oil for a few days. Feels better, but I want to get it all out, so I started back up again.
I could be wrong, but it sounds like it's working to get something out of us!

This is a reply to # 1,721,452Yes, I have heard that OP can bring out mucus related conditions. Still, after all these years, I spit out a lot of mucus every day. Where does this come from?
If you do end of with any unhealthy mucus conditions, I would suggest one week of using oil of oregano in your pulling oil. In fact, I'm doing that myself right now....and I mean RIGHT NOW..... - Re: I need help! Are those side effe... MrsLivia

This is a reply to # 1,721,452yes I ve ' been experiencing myself stomach burning that gave me a feeling of burn at the extremetis of the throat and wondering if it could from bile salt produced by the gallblader stimulated by the OP.
Bile acids are very harsh and wondering if it is that.
