I will tell you I found your question here specifically because I was looking to see if a scar I have on my belly is what other Lyme bites eventually look like. Mine is highly suspicious for Lyme, as is yours. The past 7 years or so I've had some inexplicable symptoms, hitting a wall walking over 30 min (where I felt like lead) subsided after about a year 2003-2004. Air hunger lasted half a year 2005. Fatigue when standing 2006. Fatigue when walking more than 15 min, fast heart rate at rest, dizziness when standing, palpatations at night, skipping a beat, all first half of 2007. Tight muscles in back, waking up with middle of back numb, arms weak, discovered sinus infection, symptoms went away with
Antibiotics for the sinus infection, this was last half of 2007. Severe case of flu and strep early 2008, passed out in clinic waiting room,
Antibiotics etc. I've had
Antibiotics off and on during this time for other problems as well. Skin infection from skinned shin late 2008. I began taking Vit D 2000iu/day winter 2008-2009 and kept taking it thru summer. In June 2009 I broke out in a rash centered in my groin but moved around in blotches on my arms and legs throughout the month of June eventually even in my forehead and scalp. Then August 2009 began having restless achy legs at night, pain in knees when climbing stairs or standing from sitting, waking up fatigued in mornings as if no sleep. Doctor began blood work to find a cause. Quit the Vit D thinking maybe it's just too much Vit D. Got better. Doc's tests showed I was low in Vit D, so I began taking 5000iu/day. Symptoms gradually returned and began having leg cramps Nov 2009. I remembered the rash in June about that time and doc ran Elisa test, negative. Cramps got really bad thru Jan, I began suspecting Vit D again, tested mid Feb, mid-range. Abruptly stopped Vit D and got "well" over the course of 6 weeks, started Vit D again only just 500iu/day. Early April got stomach virus and cramping in legs returned suddenly and severely, could not get any sleep at night. Experimented with magnesium. Began tanning to get natural Vit D. Symptoms got their worst in June (height of tanning) and picked up "mini-twitches" in my calves, constant twitching. Achy legs in addition to the cramping of course. Saw an infectious disease doc in July, started Doxycycline, over the next month the cramping disappeared and has not come back since. Twitching has not gone away. Got severe chills at times (Herxing I now think). Still on the Doxy now almost 5 months later. Nov 1 I began twitching in my arms and upper abdomen, sometimes a twitch will last over a week. Middle of back going numb at night again. Arms weak. Neck stiff all the time. Also over the past year short term memory getting worse and worse. Forgetting names I've known for years. Stuff like that. The return of the numbness in the middle of my back reminded me of 2007, and I began thinking I may have been bitten, not in spring of 2009, but much earlier. Started thinking back in time, and wow, I had forgotten entirely about a bite in 2002. On my stomach. I thought I must have been bitten in my sleep by a spider. Rash about 6" across 4" high, clearing in the center, brown and black in the very center. I did not think "tick" as I had not seen a tick. I was thinking spider. Not thinking Lyme at all. But on third day my feet started burning and when I took off my shoes my toes were swollen and red, and I was getting dizzy. Off to the walk-in clinic, I got a steroid injection and Rocephin injection, and 10 days of antibiotics. Doctor thought spider. Doctor should have treated me for Lyme - Doxy - didn't get Doxy, it was something else, and not long enough duration. Symptoms faded and bite cleared, except for this white area with dark spot in center, that I've had ever since. Which brought me to searching for Lyme scars, and to your message. Doc is fairly certain I have Lyme or similar bacteria. Hasn't tested me as he said there are so many bacteria that I could be infected with that would not show up in the test, no reason to run it. Response to treatment is telling. However, he admits he doesn't know how he should treat me, he's not a LLMD, the nearest LLMD is 500 miles. I'm currently looking at the Marshall Protocol as making the most sense, especially since high dose Doxy (200mg twice a day) seems to be fading in its effectiveness. See

I'm currently trying to convince my doc to put me on the protocol.
