My Trigeminal Neuralgia is back.
7 years ago I had Trigeminal Neuralgia, but it went away after I got all my teeth removed.
At that time, I had FLU LIKE SYMPTOMs, I see in my diary.
Again now, I had just gotten over a flu and the TN hit.
Does anyone else relate flu and TN?
There are also "seasonal factors" - they say TN is more common in the spring and fall, perhaps due to the low angle of the sun. For sure, bright sunlight triggers my TN now {I was just outside and it started to hit, I came in an it is not getting worse, it has not hit full on yet today}
Also, and I feel so stupid about this, it is tomatoe season and I love bacon and tomatoe sandwiches and so I have been eating BACON, which has
nitrates , which are a known trigger for TN. I know better than to eat bacon, for lots of reasons. Silly me.
Anyone else with TN have these triggers/precipitating factors?
And what are you doing to treat the TN? I got Carbamazipine yesterday from the ER. It seems to be helping, as I felt an attack come on this afternoon but nothing happened.
I would sure like to hear from other TN victims.
