This is my song, O God of all the nations,
A song of peace for lands afar and mine.
This is my home, the country where my heart is;
Here are my hopes, my dreams, my holy shrine;
But other hearts in other lands are beating
With hopes and dreams as true and high as mine.
My country's skies are bluer than the ocean,
And sunlight beams on clover leaf and pine.
But other lands have sunlight too, and clover,
And skies are everywhere as blue as mine.
So hear my song, O God of all the nations,
A song of peace for their land and for mine.
This is my prayer, O God of all earth's kingdoms,
Your kingdom come; on earth your will be done.
Let Christ be lifted up till all shall serve Him,
And hearts united learn to live as one.
So hear my prayer, O God of all the nations.
Myself I give you; let your will be done.
"This Is My Song" really touched my heart as we sang it at church. We sang it to a common hymnal tune but I could not remember the name of the tune and I don't know who wrote the words. I love to sing prayers.....you know you could put your words to music as well and we could all sing it to a tune we all know.
The tune "Gilligan's Island" however does not count LOL.....even though I must confess to having sung some christian songs to that tune in youth group.
