This is absolutely a great forum and chrisb1 has excellent knowledge and advice.
Most of the success of any fast begins between your ears.
When you do your homework online (be sure to click on Chrisb1's name to read his posts in this forum as well) you can reassure yourself that
Water Fasting is, first of all, safe. Almost all sites with in-depth knowledge will tell you under what conditions you must NOT fast, but otherwise most people can do so quite safely. If you still have a fear of fasting after all you see and read, then simply don't do it.
Once you settle the safety question and decide to fast, mental and physical preparation are really important. Know going in that you will experience the hardest part in the first three days and that eating only fruits, veggies and fresh juices for several days prior will help ease that a lot. Know and list all the reasons why you are fasting and write them down. Make them part of your resolve to not quit.
A
Water Fast is one of the BEST things you can do for your life when followed by a transition in diet toward whole foods and away from junk when you resume eating. Also, prepare for how you will react if people tell you you're nuts and doing something dangerous. Remember that those who say this have never gone even a day without food and have never researched water fasting. Be sure to thank them for their concern and let them know that you have done your homework and do not intend to stop. Smile if they promise to "send flowers when you die". Make them part of your reason to keep strong and not break the fast -- because once they see the results they will back off their tune.
The fact that you are even considering
Water Fasting as a means to health and normal weight puts you a step ahead of the crowd. Go for it!
