Yes it is. The rule is to drink when thirsty. But my experience is that drinking between 300-600ml daily benefited me more as it would activate a bowel movement and relieve headaches.

Allot of water is certainly not good. This is bad for the kidney's. Shelton wrote about it, but can't find the link, otherwise I would have send you a link.

One may rely upon the instinct of thirst to tell him when he should drink and how much. Drink when thirsty. Do not drink when not thirsty".

thanks for the thread guys. it helped with a question i have long had about drinking water during a fast. i too could not get myself to drink, and was bothered by the idea that i must force myself nevertheless! this makes much more common sense, especially since sheldon is someone i highly respect.
