Hasn't that been the obvious game plan from day one?  Cover up their crimes and the extent of the environmental and health disaster and get the heck out with the least exposure and liability possible.

The capped oil well is symbolic of what BP has been up to, the same as is the covered oil and tar balls beneath the bleached and/or newly plowed sand on the beaches and the restriction of access to citizens and journalists.
