I bought it. It is cheap and very common at any pharmacy. It is the orange stuff we used as kids when we had a skinned knee.
I though the bright orange stuff we used as kids was Mecurochrome.
I think we're both right. Tincture of iodine is orange colored also. What I used (and still use on cuts, scrapes, etc.) is Tincture of Iodine. My nurse friend tells me that until recently, tincture of iodine was used to prep an area before surgery. Now, a different, antiseptic product is used in hospitals.
I thought iodine created more of a brownish stain. That is why I was thinking Mercurochrome.
