we used to get plenty of enzymes from a diet rich in microflora... for instance B. subtilis manufactures nattokinase and vitamin K2... and these are both beneficial to proper mineral utilization, especially calcium.
Enterobacteriaceae manufacture serrapeptase and should be a normal part of our intestinal microflora... but, due to chemicals in our food, water, air, and pharmaceuticals... we no longer manufacture our own in adequate quantities and supplementation is found to be beneficial for many.
I could go on and on here, however, I think you get the picture... we have sterilized our guts (entire bodies in fact) with modern living and no longer manufacture enzymes that we need to be fully healthy.
Do not use soaps on mucous membranes... do not drink chlorinated\fluoridated water... do not take
Antibiotics or other pharmaceuticals, etc. etc.
AND - make and eat home made fermented foods and dairy... that should do it over time.
