I cut all meat out of my diet (red, chicken, poultry, pork) for the past 2 years and have had only 2 minor flare-ups. I now only eat fish, veggies, pastas, anything without meat or meat ingrediants (i even avoid soups with chicken stock).
I had a severe case of dishydrotic eczema on my hands that affected me only in the winter months. I have tried numerous medications and lotions, I was only able to get some relief from abusing steroid creams knowing full well that it could lead to other problems.
After changing my diet i saw improvements almost immediately and haven't looked back. It is a difficult diet to maintain but totally worth it. I still take precautions during the winter months such as wearing disposable nitrile gloves in the shower and limiting contact with water as much as possible.
Oh, I also use a prescription moisturizer / barrier enhancer (not a steroid cream) that has been very helpful as well. It is called Mymx, and I don't know why it's only available by Rx but it helps!
I hope this provides some relief for you if you try it....best of luck!
