Now we're starting this up in Trapper's forum? Good grief!
The vast, vast majority of independent scientific opinion as well as alternative health opinion agrees that Vitamin D is beneficial in mulitiple ways. Without it, life would not exist. It isn't a conspiracy, it is simply a universal fact.
The human body will produce up to 20,000 units of Vitamin D daily from sunshine (but no more). The sun is of course the preferred natural source; however not all people are able or willing to get as much sunlight as they need. While a very small number of people may have problems from supplementing larger amounts of Vitamin D3, supplementation of reasonable amounts has benefits for the very large majority who do not get regular sunshine.
So, if one is concerned or thinks they notice any negative effects, by all means have your serum levels tested and cut back or increase Vitamin D as needed. Otherwise, listen to what the vast majority of the world is telling you and don't get caught up in unsupported conspiracy theories or the pick and choose pseudo science of Trevor Marshall and his shills who depend on scaring people about Vitamin D in order to promote his bogus Marshall Protocol.
Like I suggested earlier, we need a Vitamin D debate forum so that other forums don't continue to get hijacked by an issue that has already been beaten to death.
Ugh!
I don't contend that supplemental Vitamin D3 is as good as natural Vitamin D3 from sunlight, nor do I propose that anyone take Vitamin D3 to avoid sunlight (which has other benefits beyond producing Vitamin D3) any more than I contend that most vitamins, minerals, enzymes, phtyo nutrients, etc., are better in supplemental form than they are from natural food and plant sources. However, when you can't or don't get enough sunlight, there may well be a price to pay unless you supplement.
I would say that rather than being too good to be true, Vitamin D3 is too good to ignore. Other than that, I have said what I will here - there have already been far too many drawn out threads and debates on the subject.
