Yesterday I got a bite from a mosquito and when they bite me the bite site swells up really big and turns hard in the middle. I didn't notice it until after I got out of the shower last night. It was huge, red, hard and had a tiny little puncture in the middle of it. It itched like crazy and I know better than to scratch them, they only itch more when you do lol.
A couple of weeks ago something had bitten me and Uny told me to put some Bentonite Clay on it but it didn't itch that bad and went away fast so I didn't use it for that bite. I keep what I call 'Bentonite Clay slip' made up in canning jars to soak non-organic veggies in so I smeared some all over the bite and saturated a bandaid with it and stuck it on my leg when I went to bed. It stopped itching immediately, yay!
When I got up this morning and took the bandaid off the bite was gone. It wasn't swollen anymore at all, it was flat. It wasn't hard in the middle and it didn't itch. It's GONE!!!! It's still a little red but I can live with that, I'm sure that'll be gone by tomorrow.
Bentonite Clay ROCKS for bites!!!

I have gotten what seems like dozens of bug bites this year, without much sequelae. But a couple weeks ago I got a bug bite on my ankle that proceeded to get very red and warm. Then both my ankle and my foot started to swell, which continued to worsen over several days. My husband was concerned that possibly I had gotten bit by a brown recluse spider and encouraged me to get it checked by a doctor. I decided instead to put a bentonite clay pack on my ankle every night for the next several nights to see what would happen. Every morning when I got up there was a noticeable improvement in my symptoms until finally all the swelling was gone and there was just a small amount of residual redness.
Be sure and keep some bentonite clay in your herbal summer survival kit!
It sounds like it could very well have been a recluse that bit you, thank God you had and used the Bentonite! Mine wasn't as bad as that, I only had to treat mine overnight for it to go away. I found another big bite last night before I went to bed so I did the same thing and it was gone this morning.
I'm in total agreement with you about making sure we have Bentonite Clay in our arsenal this summer because the buggies DO seem to be a lot worse. Where I live we usually have bats that fly all night catching all the flying bugs but I've only seen the one bat this year, we usually have many. I'm wondering if our bats got that whitenose disease that's been all over the news. They've shut down the bat caves all over the place to keep humans away from the bats. Never thought I'd say I miss my bats but there you have it lol. They do a world of good keeping the bugs away, I hope they come back soon. ;)
