Today i got my fresh caucasian milk kefir grains and it says on the descriptions that contains "candida kefir" too. What do you guys think, isn't it dangerous? What could be the adverse reaction? Thank you.- Re: Candida kefir?! GetCuredOrDieTrying

This is a reply to # 1,632,544Theoretically, it can cause infection in humans. I stopped drinking kefir when I found this out as its present in both store bought and home made kefir - I would at least like to see more evidence that kefir helps and does not hurt.

my question is: wouldnt stomach acid kill anything you drank anyway? fungus or bacteria? How can probiotics help at all , if they are probably killed?
kefir: you are saying it is a fungus? why do people take it for candida -- assuming it can live long enough through the stomach to have any effect anyway?

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,635,845If your stomach acid and immune system would successfully kill any and ALL biologicals that you consume, you wouldn't be on this forum.
And, in any case, whenever you're dealing with sources of bacteria or fungi, the numbers of CFUs (colony-forming units aka "live ones") are often in the billions per gram range... so, even if your body kills off say 99.99%, that still leaving quite a lot of them alive and well.
