Hey everyone, yea...it's me again =) Howdy apegrape :)
I was thinking about how I'm going to be stuffing my face with juices and tea and etc etc again today, and how full I get, and how the fullness makes me feel kinda sick. Stuffing? lol...you're not quite stuffing yet. But I understand...and the "fullness/sick" thing is definitely not "lol". I was asked yesterday if I had any problems with (I forget the phrase used) stomach emptying. I said no, not really, then thought about it, then said sometimes...then since that talk I have really thought about it and it has always been a huge problem for me. I could eat half an apple and be stuffed for many hours. I remember earlier this year getting sick one morning (throwing up) and seeing something from 18 hours earlier. And no matter how much I eat I have hugge burps after, even with the juicing. I always thought with the juices they would just go through quicker but maybe they aren't and maybe that is why I'm so full. And I'm adding the slippery elm gruel 3x a day starting today. I've been told in the past that it could be some gastroparesis caused my 20 years of diabetes. Yes indeedy, it sounds like you've got some type of "delay" to heal. For those that aren't aware, here's what gastroparesis is (or, well, it's what "they" SAY it is). When you have acid reflux, "they" say it's because of too much stomach acid, but it's actually because of too LITTLE stomach acid and all the gas given off by the putrefying food (that didn't get enough stomach acid to break-down)...so the gas pushes acid upward into the esosphagus where it can be felt.
Definitions of gastroparesis on the Web:
Anyone have any ideas that might help improve this propblem? I do! I do!! Pick me! Pick me!! You're going to be doing a lot of it already, but now we know where we need to "ramp it up" and how to better customize for you. There's a lot you can do...and it all centers around establishing a strong downward flow...increasing stomach acid, juicing produce that's high in digestive enzymes, bringing those nerves back to life (if they are damaged)...and making sure the "main tubing" is clear (especially at the bottom). Some of these things are relatively easy - but some are going to go on your "why I hate Uny" list.
--In every juice, make sure there's some pineapple and/or papaya. And when you juice the pineapple, leave on the skin (no, it doesn't taste bad...but between the skin and "fruit" is the largest source of bromelain - a digestive enzyme. The enzyme in papaya is called papain.
People that have a clogged liver and sub-par pancreas, are lacking bile and the digestive enzymes from the pancreas. This creates many of the symptoms you are stating. The papaya/pineapple will help substantially with the enzyme issue.
--the Liver/GB tincture is extremely bitter, and one of the best ways to stimulate the liver is with bitters. So, 5x a day (before every dose of IF#2 is a good time), put 5 drops of the Liver/GB tincture on your tongue.
--ACV - this is now even MORE than essential...do your best to up it to 1 1/2 Tablespoons in the ACV Bomb. ACV has been known for centuries to cure 'lack of stomach acid' & digestive issues, but a quick search reveals that not only does ACV improve diabetic gastroparesis, it also helps lower blood sugar and restore insulin receptors! Here's a clinical study: http://www.biomedcentral.com/1471-230X/7/46 (by the way, the 30 mls of ACV used in the study before every meal...that's equivalent to 1.014 fluid ounces...there are 8oz in a cup; 16 tablespoons in a cup...so that's two full Tablespoons they were using (and I guessed only 1 1/2 Tablespoons) And here's a general Google search: http://tinyurl.com/3a7h8bw

EFT - Suggested set-up phrases:
Even though I think I can't take ACV on an empty stomach, I am grateful for this opportunity to heal myself...and I completely love & accept myself.
Even though I hate "hot & spicy", I love & accept myself totally.
Even though the IP is proving to be extremely challenging, I know I can do it...and I truly love myself.
Even though I have fear & anxiety (or whatever you're feeling) about lowering my insulin and letting my body normalize, I deeply & sincerely love myself.
Do several round of tapping on each issue every day (and any other issue you know that may be blocking you in some way or another).
I'm seriously stuffed after my morning flush drink of only 12 oz of juice. Not to mention in that case I'm never able to take the acv bomb on an empty stomache (or anything for that matter). This is a mental thing? or you have a throat malfunction? :::grin::: EFT...tap it away, and get the ACV in 3x a day (if it's easy to not mix anything else with it, then just mix the 2T with a splash of water and slam it).
I did simmer my tea way down this morning to get all the herbs without so much liquid. YAY! Just be sure to not allow yourself to be dehydrated.
One more question...I don't know why I only think to mention these things now but better late then never I guess. Don't beat yourself up - you've had a LOT on your brain...and you're doing wonderfully to have it all as organized as you do. I've known people to start the IP without any kind of an outline or a schedule!
I always suffer from intestinal inflamation...doesn't matter if I have 1 bite of food or a whole meal, and I get big time bloated, I look about 5 months pregnant bloated. Is there anything else I should be doing to help this? Like I said above I'm starting my slippery elm gruel today (did it once yesterday, with apple juice and cinnamon...yum! but very filling). Also I figured the IF 1 and 2 will help. I thought about this one last night...after a bad day yesterday I had a few bites of a raw vegan lasagnia the hub had made, and I bloated up like a balloon, though I haven't really been bloated at all since starting the IP. We have every reason to believe and know this will resolve when the reason for the bloating is gone...and the reason (basically) is putrefying foods & fluids giving off large amounts of gas...so once you get your digestive flow flowing (bile, enzymes, stomach acid, peristalsis, transit time through the digestive tract), this will resolve. Fennel, wild yam, peppermint...these things all help with bloating & gas...so does the Liver/Detox/Digestive tea.
Thanks everyone...You're more than welcome :) Uny

If you read the ACV study you will see it made gastric pariesis much WORSE in diabetic patients. The study quotes emptying rates of 27% for water (control) group and 17% ACV group respectively (more emptying is better, less is worse), and even says in the text that ACV worsens gastric emptying (and presumably control of blood sugar).
Thank you (very much!) for pointing out my erroneous oversight. There's no excuse for me not thoroughly reading the study I posted - although I do know the reason it happened. Due to reading quite a few sites/posts of people having great results with ACV for gastroparesis, after glancing at the abstract, I assumed the study showed a beneficial impact (rather than the negative impact it showed).
Having now thoroughly read the study, I see there were major errors made that definitely need to be pointed out:
--They did not use raw, organic apple cider vinegar - they used "commercial available apple cider vinegar with honey flavouring". We can safely assume 'commercial', means 'pasteurized' and made with apples sprayed with chemical toxins...and who knows what chemicals were in the 'honey flavoring'. With the various chemicals & pasteurization involved, we can't assume the end result of the study would be the same as unpasteurized raw organic apple cider vinegar.
--They mixed 30 ml (2 tablespoons) of the 'commerical acv' with 200 ml (approximately 3/4 of a cup) of water - and we don't know the purity/type of the water. Fluoridated? chlorinated? spring water with hard/rock minerals? other? With the addition of 'unknown water chemicals' (and the chemicals in the (likely) in the pasteurized apple cider vinegar & honey flavoring, we can determine that this study does not reflect what will occur in the human body when using organic raw apple cider vinegar.
Also, when drinking water before a meal, stomach acid is diluted which adversely affects digestion (and likely the time it takes for the stomach to empty)
--"One week before the first examination, the patients drank 200 ml water every morning before their breakfast." Diluting stomach acid before eating for a week before testing likely impacted digestion - hence affected the outcome/conclusion of the study.
--So, what we know is that if one drinks 200ml of some kind of water every day before breakfast for a week, then waters down 2T of commercial acv with honey flavoring, and drinks it before breakfast, the stomach will empty at a slower rate than it did previously.
For how long? We don't know.
When cleansing/healing our body, sometimes the very thing we're "treating" seems to 'get worse right before it gets better'. Could this be what was happening here? We don't know.
And they call this "science" and expect us to believe in it. :::eyeroll:::
'Just to note, I find it very interesting that you seem to have created a new user ID/# (this being the first post) for the purpose of pointing out an error that's almost 3 years old.
Thank you again (truly!) for pointing this out! It was certainly an unintentional error, but an error nonetheless...and I'm none to proud of myself for making it - but glad to have the opportunity to correct it.
