Breaking a fast properly is VERY important both from the point of view of getting your digestion and eliminations back to normal, to making yourself violently ill. Both these things become waaay more crucial on longer fast like a 35 dayer which you should be taking a good 7 to 10 days to break gently. Some people have not gotten sick from eating too soon while others have gotten violently ill from eating something as inocuous as salads too soon after a long fast. You feeling lucky................. You should stop your fast at least a week before the dinner.
I dunno anything about Ghanian food but my guess is that it will be heavy on the starches and possibly hot spices neither of which are good things to break a "long" fast gently
