Hello Ladies. Been a while. I am now at a year post and feel pretty good. The OLD ME is back.I was a 6 year mirena user. Thinking It's just about out of my system by now. Thank God. I have very wacky periods for sure. Seem to be having a hard time regulating, but It's ok with me. I have been going about every other month with a cycle; where as about at the 6 month mark it was every 3 weeks and heavy. I get easily agitated just before my cycle is due. PMS. I have very tender breasts quite often. (that is new for me) Hope that it's the many sodas I drink per day getting caffeine overload. Haven't had a hot flash in a couple of months. YAY!!! Just had bloodwork done for perimenopause. All's good there. Thyroid is at normal levels. good too. I am having a hard time losing the 15
lbs. I have gained. That's not so good. Been a bit achy and weak in the strength area. Working on that through exercise. It seems to be strengthening me. My muscles have seemed to become fatigue and weak. Insomnia pretty much gone. With the exception of a night now and then that I just can't seem to settle down. I am getting in about 6 hrs. a night these days. That has made a world of difference. Rarely do I feel any more anxiety. No heart palps. My hair feels very healthy and thick now. No more fall out. (have additional grey hair now) not that I can blame Mirena for that. Ha ha. Been a very tough year. I think it's stress. Skin is better, but still a bit dry. My nails are growing and stronger than ever. Love that! I hope anyone else can post an update full of positives. It has been a long road this year, but things are looking up. Glad I made the decision to have this ugly device removed. I hope others will make the same decision if feeling rotten. Listen to your body please. If you feel different or others around notice you are different. Please look at the birth control you are using. My experience with Mirena has been so horrible, that I will never ever put synthetic birth control into my body. I think they are all evil and no good for us. Hopefully one day in the future none of us will ever be told the 'C' word because of this. Thank you to all who have helped me through this year. I hope one day this will get pulled from the market so others won't suffer the way we have. Good Luck .
