Mon/Day 15 (29/Mar/10 I did hit that snooze button, but upon rising I realized I felt fantastic! I took my daughter to school, and it was only 35 degrees. I just plain cannot get over the fact that I...was...
not...
cold! This is
not typical for fasting. It MUST be due to
Iodine supplementation! In spite of how good I felt, I decided to rest. Just had a lazy day in front of the boob tube. (I didn't want to read because that always makes me sleepy. I look forward to the day where that will no longer happen, as I was an avid reader.) 10 cups plain water, 2 drops
Iodine (and got another load of laundry done, so wasn't a total slacker(;^)
Tue/Day 16 (30/Mar/10) Hey! I didn't hit the snooze! Just got up. whoa. Unfortunately, awoke to a stressful 'crisis'. (lol) Had to have strict talk with my teen; I was calmly firm, but was hit with physical repercussions from the situation. wow. It wiped me out. On a separate issue, I let family know I have
no problem going to the store for them; but they must list it, or it won't be purchased. I cannot even think about they need (or want.) Was led this am to put 5 drops of
Iodine on belly, and have a 'lick' of boron. (Just wet finger and licked.) Was on computer til approx 2:30, then had a small, but very dark, smelly and gelatinous bm. Showered, got daughter, then off for groceries. Was on my feet from 4 til 9. Hubby hurt back at work, so couldn't help unload car. I was shocked at my strength. Put away, made dinner, did dishes, load of laundry. Had 6 16oz bottles water (my glass bottles). 1/8tsp RealSalt in each bottle. I literally have more strength and endurance today, than the day before I started this fast. Unbelievable. (no-tri-salts today). 3 drops of iodine on chest. (big healing zit) This is the first fast I have ever had where I finally got to the stage of
not feeling hunger.
This last bit is a bit gross and embarrassing, but I feel it's important to share. Just before going to bed I thought I had gas, but soiled my underwear. Fortunately, all liquid, very light green with orangish tints. However, I noticed it did not smell bad - at all. It did smell a bit metallic, however. It made me wonder if mercury has a certain odor to it. Anyway, whatever it was, my body didn't want it! Got in bed at midnight.
Wed/Day 17 (31/Mar/10) Awoke at 6am to frontal-lobe headache and low-back pain. Drank 16oz of prepared water I had (1/8tsp realsalt, 1/8 tsp tri-salts) and both resolved. I was up warm, and singing, and preparing my family's breakfast while they struggled to awaken. When hubby left for work at 7:30, it hit me; I really like the new me that's emerging. Just light housework, meandering outside at times, slow-baked roast, potatoes, carrots and onions for family (all day at 250, boy was he happy reporting how good dinner was when I got up from a late nap (from 4-6pm.)
I need to note something here: getting a drink after that nap I noticed something about my water. I had awoken very thirsty and when I swallowed I remembered a scene from an old western movie. The horseriders had gone without water for a time and came upon a stream. One of the men drank with their hands and said, "Now, that's some good 'sweetwater'!" That's what I thought when drinking my water. I can't help but acknowledge the fact that if a person were fasting way back when they would
not be drinking
distilled water, but water with minerals in it. My salt and tri-salt water has a 'sweet' quality to it that I only notice when I'm really thirsty. I found that quite interesting - and confirming!
Noneventful evening. 15 8oz cups water...(1/4 tsp salt and tri-salts per quart.) 3 drops iodine on skin. Bed by midnight. Urine still has color to it, so I know I continue to detox. Oops...up at 12:15am with watery, dark-tea-colored BM, no strong odor.
Thu/Day 18 (01/Apr/10) Woke up with thirst...and the 'knowledge' of putting all my nourishment into every bottle of water I drink. Water, salt, 'soda', and iodine. For every
quart of pure water, I add: 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp tri-salts, and one drop iodine. I can't believe my energy. I have no problem getting up quickly. BP is 121/77! Not dropping like past fasts. Getting stronger! Carried in FIVE bags (from store) all at once. I jogged up the stairs. Can't believe it. Is this really day 18??? My water is my food. I am drinking more. (The experts say to watch water intake as you might wash too many minerals out of the body.) I do believe Cayce had it right. As my intestines heal, they can make what my body needs on those four ingredients alone. water, salt, soda, and iodine (and oxygen and sunshine) - and the best part is sleeping through the night - no insomnia. What a blessing.
The early evening found me mowing my backyard, (pic), then cleaning the mower deck, going w/hubby and child to store, watching Survivor, lol, then doing the dishes. Went to bed at 1. Had 5
quarts of salt, tri-salts, and iodine-treated water by day's end.
Fri/Day 19 (02/Apr/10) Got up at 8:30 after a sound sleep. However, I was dehydrated!!! My hands were wrinkled and pinching them held the pinch! And all that water yesterday! Part of my concern is that I guess I'm still fighting what we keep getting told about "too much salt, too much salt, too much salt"... I mean, the "formula" I arrived at was adding the same amount of realsalt and tri-salts; the salt content would still be higher because there's also sodium in the tri-salts...and our body needs to consume a balance...even if it's just the basic water, salt, soda and iodine. So, for today, I just left out the RealSalt.
Had my 'breakfast' water and went out to pull weeds. Had a full-body massage early afternoon. Just an easy day - could've worked if I had to - just chose not to! lol..OH, took my own cold-pressed olive oil to the masseuse. It took 2
ounces to do the job...lol. (I wanted olive oil AND the knowledge of how much it takes.) Oh yeah, another thing. I tried really hard to cause a cramp in my feet in the morning. They started to, but they resolved on their own, without me needing to stretch them in the opposite direction. I thought that was really cool. I'm seeing clearer, and my hearing seems to be improving.
As the day progressed, I got crankier and colder. While watching tv w/family, I got the salt shaker, and occasionally licked salt from my hand; it was like a treat. I knew from previous experience that I know if I've had "too much" - just by taste. It took a few hours of putting just a shake in my hand for licking for that to happen, but I noticed something - as my body was taking in more salt, it became warmer and my mood improved. Yep, it's correct to keep taking the salt in addition to the tri-salts (which has sodium bicarbonate in it.) Had a very small watery and tea-colored bm at 11pm.
Sat/Day 20 (03/Apr/10) I did not awake dehydrated! However, I did have a frontal-lobe headache and low-back pain. Did one
Bromide Salt-Push with 1/2 tsp RealSalt followed by 16oz pure untreated water. Low back pain went away and headache was alleviated by 90%. I decided my goal is to find a personal 'recipe'...how much salt and tri-salts to maintain hydration and comfort levels. Comfort levels include mouth taste. I also found, when licking that salt last night, that the horrible ketosis-mouth taste became almost non-existant, leaving a sweet taste, instead of bitter. Yes, my tongue is still coated white. Also, even though I did all that mowing, it was not hot enough to 'drip' sweat. So all that water consumption and following dehydration concerned me. I urinated a LOT, and it didn't make sense my body didn't retain enough to stay hydrated.
So today, my experiment will be to have 1/4 tsp RealSalt, 1/8 tsp tri-salts, and one drop of iodine in each 16oz bottle of water. (
There is potassium and magnesium in RealSalt, too.)
Whoa, just one bottle tells me, too much salt - constantly thirsty and I'm just sitting here. Next bottle I increased tri-salts by 1/8 tsp, so that both salt and soda are equal again. Already feels better on the tongue. Interesting. Ew. By end of bottle - ew - too much. Back to original. Oh, I'll get there...God's good, he seems to allow me to test Him out...but that's not really it. I do trust HIM, it's that I don't always trust MYSELF, and if I am 'hearing' Him correctly. I know that we are not to 'test' God. He knows me. He knows I don't trust my instincts all the time. Could just be part of the fasting, too. All that water when I mowed, but also because of natural detoxing because I'm fasting. Perhaps 5
quarts just wasn't enough, when it would've been plenty had I been eating, and not exerting.
Sorry this is so long. Ended up doing a LOT of cleaning and vacuuming today. Finally got to sit down around 11pm and going to bed at midnight. Probably not enough water today. 9 cups???
Sun/Day 21 (04/Apr/10) I awoke very thirsty, but not dehydrated (pinch test on hand). I keep water by my bed now. Had a
quart of treated water (1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp tri-salts per quart) by 11am. 4 drops iodine on belly. Hubby going to parents' house for Easter lunch. I could say "fortunately" I didn't feel 'well' so that he wouldn't feel like he had to lie about me not coming. I'm pretty worn out from all that heavy-duty cleaning the day before. Very tired. I have the "Visual Bible" series of the book of Matthew...daughter and I watching it today. Had small hard black bm in the a.m. Got in some sunshine. Got headache. Did one salt-push (1/2 tsp salt.) Took two-hour nap. Woke up cold. Still 'needed' salt. Licked from hand til 'satisfied'...and did get warm within the hour. (There is also a line of very severe thunderstorms moving into the area which can affect the body.)
Oh, and also crushed 1/2 of one of my magnesium tablets. Mixed in with one of my treated bottles of water. Only took three swallows, that seemed plenty. I keep it in fridge.
Mon/Day 22 (05/Apr/10) Slept in til 10. It feels so good to be able to sleep through the night. That's the best! I just realized something else. My body is tired. Not 'worn out' - but very relaxed. The realization was the idea of hibernation. Animals that hibernate get fat, but then sleep during the winter. They toil when eating, but are at rest when burning off that fat. I believe all that work I did, was in fact too much. Even though my body could handle it fine, I do seem to
still be 'paying for it'. I'm glad for having done it, however, for my house really needed it. I can now, for the rest of my fast, take a lackadaisical approach to maintain it. I'm a happy camper. I know I can continue for quite awhile. Also, I know that fasting is a personal thing, between me and God. I was reminded that HE led me to this. I am anonymous to you all, but He knows I desire to help others through myself. I do not want to forget that it is God who strengthens me and keeps me going. Thank you.
