I signed into Dr Lam's programme for 2 months and eventually opt out. The first call with him lasted about 40 minutes and that cost me $1200. The subsequent calls - they never lasted more than 10 minutes and each cost 150 per call. Of course the charges were made known to me but still I did not know that I get to spend soooo little time on the phone for 150 bucks! I shall list the pros-cons here
Pros
1) I do feel he's well-versed in Adrenal Fatigue and able to explain certain things well if I experienced certain symptoms. His book is quite comprehensive but certainly paints a very bleak picture of AF. And certainly wants to make me want to run to him for the fear of what he described as total shutdown of bodily functions.
Cons
1) Way too expensive, not value for money considering how little time he spent on the phone with me. 5-10 minutes/call each week is barely enough for me to update my progress let alone discuss on treatment plan. Most of the time, you speak to his assistant/secretary who doesn't know anything about the treatment. He didn't ask me too much questions or how I feel in detail. To me that's vital especially its not a face-to-face situation. So how would he then know what condition I am in?? If I asked a bit more questions on my part, his answers were quite short and you get the sense he's eager to hang up.
2) What bothers me the MOST is that he did not get me to do any blood tests or want to view any of my existing labwork which I believe potentially its quite "dangerous" because symptoms can overlap. Without the blood test results, how would one be able to make a diagnosis?? And not everything is related to adrenal fatigue - hence treating the wrong thing.
3) The supplements recommended by him - I might be wrong but I don't feel the quality is there. For eg. I had been taking the LivOn liposomal C+ before switching to his brand. I could literally feel the drop in energy though on paper was supposedly to be stronger.
4) He wanted to dramatically increase my dose of Lipo Vit C, C tablets, B5, Glutathione, etc, etc which I instinctively know cannot be good for me. My body does not react to strong, violent doses of supplements. It has to be introduced gently. So that was the last straw. I stopped the programme.
5) I feel like in the programme, he just direct you what supplements to take and how much and that's it really. But to give him the benefit of doubt, I only stuck it out for 2 months. The reasons I opted out were that I felt his direction is not in tune with mine, his lack of individual attention/ effort would and could not help identify the root cause/ fundamental health problems. But having said that, if my adrenals are acting up and need some further mentoring on how to proceed, I would contact him again. Only because I had already paid the initial bulk charge of 1200.
I hope this feedback helps those considering his services. I can only speak from my perspective. I am sure he has helped plenty of others but I am not wrong to say he's very business-like. Out of desperation, I paid the exorbitant fees. So do your own research. Good luck and good health to you all.
