Proverbs 6
16There are six things the LORD hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
17haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
18a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19a false witness who pours out lies
and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.
I'm not sure what ground you think I am losing?
I tend to utilize scripture to share the meaning Christian perception and language is part of. For example:
"More importantly where is the heart....."
Luke 6:45
The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.
The goal of the debate is the truth.
I "leave" the saving to The Way. The Truth, and The Life. (by the way I enjoyed your poem. Though I was not sure what it had to do with
Christianity Debate , Seek and I did find;)
Luke 11
9“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
1 Kings 6:33(construction of the temple)
In the same way he made four-sided jambs of olive wood for the entrance to the main hall.
He also made two pine doors, each having two leaves that turned in sockets.
Revelation 22:1-2
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb
down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.
John 2
13When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. 15So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. 16To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father’s house into a market!”
17His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.”b
18Then the Jews demanded of him, “What miraculous sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”
19Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”
20The Jews replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” 21But the temple he had spoken of was his body.
Where IS God in all this?
John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word(Logos), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
"You catch more flies with honey than vinegar"
Well so far this debate forum for me has been about presenting the truth as it has been revealed to me. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."
I am going to follow the truth. I am going to stand for the truth. If I read something that does not seem truthful, I will question and test it.
Proverbs 25:27
It is not good to eat too much honey, nor is it honorable to seek one's own honor.
