Maybe this is because of a lack of stomach acid.
Candida overgrowth can result of that problem too.
I have the problem and improved it with Bitters, Trimethylglycine, and Zinc, and I still take some betaine HCL caps.

Maybe this will help.
Bitters, I take a little amount just before meals, the goal is just to taste the bitterness. So a few drops on the tongue will be enough. They will stimulate the digestive juices and enzymes production and release.
Zinc 25mg two times a day with meals. Do not exceed 50mg a day.
Oat bran is as much as you want, I suppose. 3tbspoons a day are surely enough, imo. To build the flora, kefir is also recommended as it's a very rich probiotic source, and contain acids that helps control pathogens as Candida Albicans.
I take two caps of betaine HCL (mine are 648mg Betaine, 140 or 150 mg pepsin and are from NOW foods), but when your stomach will produce enough acid, you won't need them anymore. You can try Apple Cider vinegar just before meals, diluted in some water. It helps release acid too.
Choose bitters that do not contain herbs like senna, aloe or rhubarb, as they contain anthraquinones, that are harsh laxatives. Avoid the swedish bitters. Prefer grape bitters or I take these ones that are made from artichoke, gentiane,... :

Trimethyglycine is also effective to produce stomach acid, I know that the brand "Jarrow's formula" or smth like that are selling it. 500 to 1000mg with meal.
The advices come from the forum "The Truth in Medicine", thanks to Hveragherti's knowledge.
