vanadium (vanadyl sulfate) is good. It functions just like insulin, but can bypass the closed insulin receptors of type 2 diabetes. Vanadium can also hep open the closed receptors in the process. But I would not rely on vanadium alone to address diabetes. There are many other important supplements including chromium, magnesium, vitamin C, bioflavonoids, hypoglycemic herbs,
Sugar blockers, amylase inhibitors, etc. that should also be incorporated.
Resveratrol is actually a phytoestrogen. It can help by antagonizing estrogen that increases insulin resistance.
Ellagic acid is a polyphenol, which is a great antioxidant. The drawback though is that polyphenols can also bind active components of other herbs and supplements, so they are best avoided when taking herbs, supplements and even medications.
