This is an excellent article. If anyone has had an ear disturbance that brings on severe vertigo, they can appreciate what a dog with Canine Vestibular Disease goes through. Actually, the human equivalent of symptoms are pretty much the same. It rocks your world. Now add to this a furkid that does not understand what is happening to them. Pretty much breaks your heart. As the article points out, for the most part dogs do recover. Hopefully it will be sooner than three weeks, but sometimes it takes that long. During this time, your furkid needs lots of Tender Loving Care. And some dogs do retain that "tilt," although they seem to deal with it well.
What I would suggest to aid his recovery is putting colloidal silver drops in his ears. If there is any type of infection (which is very possible), collodial silver will eliminate it. I would also put it in his drinking water from now on. This will help him regain his enthusiasm and energy and you will notice that he will not succumb to the "elderly" symptoms described in that article. Colloidal silver, for some reason, gives dogs the vim and vigor they once had as pups. My almost 12 year old Misty can keep up with any puppy she meets.
As the article stated, there is really nothing that can be done about Canine Vesticular Disease and the vet will most likely prescribe antibiotics. If it were me, I would forego the antibiotics and rely on colloidal silver. It has never failed me and will even eliminate pathogens that are becoming resistant to antibiotics. Where antibiotics take time to work, anything that I have used CS for has shown vast improvement, if not been healed, in two days, both for Misty and myself. However, it is a good idea to take him to the vet in order to rule out more serious conditions.
My very best to you,
Luella
You are most welcome Emster. Our furkids are our babies and when they suffer, we suffer.
The only colloidal silver that we recommend are Utopia Silver and Mesosilver because they are the best quality you will find anywhere. With Utopia Silver though, if you use their coupon code LR001, you will receive a 15% discount if it is not on sale. Both these companies are online and I realize that time is of the essence, so you may want to get a bottle from the health store. When you do, ingredients are very important. Make sure it does not have any type of animal fats or proteins. What you usually get in health food stores is mostly ionic and sometimes costs an arm and a leg. Just watch those ingredients.
I wish you my very best, and keep me posted on how your furkid fares.
