I am over 13 months post removal, and running at 90-95% better. In the last 6 weeks I started really concentrating on my adrenals and intestinal flora, and the change has been dramatic (I was probably 75% better at 1 year). My anxiety is almost gone, except period time, and my motivation has increased. Natural remedies seem the way to go.

The year mark seems to be a turning point for those of us who got the sickest. I still stick around partly because of the petition (I have to send it to the FDA this month) Most women who are better stop posting, although many continue to check on the newer members. Maybe Lucy or Kara will pop in. (miss you gals!) They are around 13 months removal, and I believe doing quite well.

Unless you are fairly certain your progesterone levels are low, watch using the cream. You can end up with too much of that built up in your system, and end up with the same symptoms as estrogen dominance. (I speak from experience) Vitex is a much less invasive solution, though it takes longer to kick in.

I occasionally browse the posts (usually around period time) and happened upon your question today.
I am 13 months post and like Jill feel about 90-95% better, depending on where I am in cycle.
Because of my age, 40, and the push toward menopause, I don't know if I will reach 100%, but I can hope. I am so much better than where I was a year ago right after removal AND a completely different person than when I had Mirena.
Periods that were non existent on Mirena are normal and almost predictable now.
My anxiety issues occur either right before my period when progesterone dives or due to blood Sugar fluctuations (exercise affects me too). However, they are not nearly as bad as with Mirena. I saw real improvement with this about month 6 post and noticed HUGE difference around month 8 post removal. On a scale of 1-10 they have been no more than a 4 or 5 (and this is rare), when last year I would say 8 to 10 and while on Mirena 12-15 :-). Taking St. John's Wort supplement really helped me a lot.
Insomnia is also only during days prior to cycle starting. I am told that this is part of perimenopause hormonal fluctuations, it usually accompanies or is followed by anxiety.
HANG IN THERE! Things get better with every cycle. Sometimes it can be frustrating to have a setback after much improvement, but your body will regain balance, little by little. I think that those of us who had the device longer take longer to heal (but not always), it just depends on many factors (age is one).
I never tried the cream, but I know many women swear by it.

I'm about 20 months post-mirena, and I'd say I'm about 98% better, but it's hard to be sure since I'm pregnant and don't have the ups and downs of a cycle right now. Things I've noticed that still happen occasionally to me are: I'll notice my heart beating faster than normal. I'll have a sudden headache on the left side of my head that goes away after 5 mins or so. My left eye will twitch for a few weeks, then suddenly go away. My left knee will hurt for about a half a day then go away. Currently the top of my left foot feels numb, it's been that way for a few days now. There are other random aches and pains that do the same thing, come and go. I'll notice only one thing maybe every week or two, it's never more than 1 thing at the same time (and strangely it all seems to be on my left side). It's almost like whatever silicone or toxins are left from the mirena are traveling around my body. The anxiety seems to completely have gone away, thank God. I hope I'll still feel this good after I have my baby. I'll post after a couple cycles.
