Acrylamide causes cancer, that is not in dispute. It is known, and it happens.

Junk food contains acrylamide. It occurs when fats are heated in the cooking processes for potatoe chips.

The NEWS is that Health Canada is considering making an order to put a certain enzyme in the food products where acrylamide occurs because that enzyme can block formation of acrylamide {the enzyme is allready being used in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, and Denmark}

I think that a better idea would be to just ban the whole process that produces acrylamide, or warning people about acrylamide and junk food, but gee I guess that might cut into someone's sales...

In any case - be aware of acrylamide and junk food, and be wary of health authorites who are not protecting us but who's presence lulls us into a sense of false security!!
