For those who don't know me I'll start by telling you that I haven't been sick in I can't remember how many years and I do mean probably at least 15 to 20 years. I haven't even had the common cold in that many years.
That all changed Sunday afternoon. I felt fine when I got up Sunday morning but by the time we got home from church I was feeling kinda tired, but didn't really think anything about it. I fell asleep on the sofa and slept for hours. I woke up at about 7:00pm with the chills. I've never had the chills before, if felt so strange to me. I was so cold I went and got a little electric heater, plugged it in and fell asleep again on the sofa with the heater blowing on my arms. Now it was about 75 degrees here Sunday so there is no reason I should have been cold, I didn't know what "the chills" meant because I'm not used to ever being sick, shoulda had a clue lol! I woke up again at about 9:30 and was nauseous so I decided to go to bed. My husband knew something was wrong because I usually don't even think about going to bed until 2:00am or later lol. On my way to bed I took a couple of droppers of Echinacea.
I woke up every few hours and went to the bathroom cause I had been so thirsty I drank a ton of distilled water. One of the times I got up I took 2 tablespoons of Echinacea because it had finally dawned on me (after talking to Uny, lol) that I must be (the dreaded word), sick! Got up Monday about 11:00am and thats after I had slept all day Sunday wow, thats a lot of sleep. In between getting up to go to the bathroom, guzzling water and taking more Echinacea I slept all day again on the sofa and went to bed Monday night at 10:00pm.
I got up this morning feeling fine other than my whole body was sore from laying down that long, I ached all over from head to toe. I had to go get on the inversion table to get the kinks out. I never did throw up I was just chilled to the bone and extremely tired, couldn't hardly walk to the bedroom and back to the family room. I've been thinking about it and I'm sure that if I would have taken the Echinacea the minute I felt so tired Sunday afternoon I don't think it would have gone any further, but never being sick I didn't know what was coming. The Echinacea would have knocked it out before it got a hold on me. I don't know if it was the flu or just a bug, I call it the CRUD for lack of a better word.
I made my first batch of tinctures on the new moon in October, I haven't pressed any until today but I have been getting a dropperful out a couple times a day and testing them against Uny's to see how mine compared. So I've been taking at least 2 droppersful of Echinacea everyday for the last 2 weeks.
I want to encourage everyone to get some Echinacea and take it every single day. I don't know if it would have knocked whatever I had out so fast if I hadn't been taking it everyday for the last couple of weeks, it very well could have. I just know that I'm going to keep taking it because I feel like we all need to build up our immune system with all the flu thats going around out there. I would never have dreamed I would get sick, when you go for so many years without any sickness you feel invincible but I did get sick so its taught me a valuable lesson to take the necessary precautions and for me thats taking my Echinacea everyday without fail.
I feel very blessed that it only lasted less than 2 full days for me, I know people who have had it for more than a week. I attribute that to taking the Echinacea. I shudder to think just how bad it could have been if I hadn't known about the Echinacea.
Blessings of health.

I'm doing some research but in the meantime can you tell me if you've taken the H1N1 vaccine?
Wow thanks so much for the message. I've just been hit with H1N1 virus and it's killing me slowly. Firstly, unless you've had a blood test (and hopefully you have NOT exposed your body to even more pathogens and the associated trauma of a blood test, by stepping foot into a hospital), you don't know if you have H1N1 or another forum of the seasonal flu. Secondly, H1N1 is one of THE weakest and least likely to cause death of any of the flu viruses for decades (yes, the Mainstream Media has been yanking our winkies!). And thirdly (I hope you were joking), it is likely NOT "killing you slowly"!!! At your age and level of health, you're not in the 'risk category' for death...but of course, that doesn't mean you shouldn't be helping your body fight (and paying attention to symptoms/issues).
But after being REALLY sick of being sick, I decided to get some enchinacia. order rec'd & shipped - it's on it's way :)
Have you ever heard of this happening? "DO NOT take Echinacea! in this case it will increase the immune response (phlegm) and actually increase the chance of dying.
DO NOT take any cold/flu OTC remedies in the early stages to cure congestion. They will thicken the mucus and increase the chance of suffocation." ??? Is this possible. What you seem to be referring to is a HIGHLY overhyped reaction known as a cytokine storm. This is most likely to happen (and very rare at that) if someone takes a HUGE amount of an immune bolstering herb right after they've had a vaccine. The body/immune system is already going totally nutzo-berserk after a vaccine, trying to detoxify from the poisons (and/or aluminum & mercury), while at the same time dealing with the injection of pathogens, at the same time dealing with the vaccine adjuvants (toxic substances added to artifcially 'jump start' the immune system). But what you seem to be dealing with is some typical version of the annual flu --h1n1 or not-- (which seems like it's being made worse by the negative emotional/fear state that you've been conditioned to have).
And what else could you suggest that I could do to help help in the mean time? Coffee enemeas avoided? Fasting avoided?
Uny what do you think?? All animals naturally go 'off food' when they become sick - so it is natural for us to stick to liquids when we are sick. If I were you, I would:
--continue with the daily CE's I do daily anyway
--juicing & potassium broth (or any 'veggie broth' from high nutrient produce - sometimes the hot/warm broth is just what the doctor ordered)
--mega raw garlic (if it didn't increase nausea too much) - take with ginger root for nausea. 3-6 cloves of raw garlic would be a good dose (more if you can). If you can't "do raw", then put tons in the broth.
--Echinacea tincture...up to 2 Tablespoons 3-4x daily. (I take 2 tsp daily for 'general purposes'...I'm all for increasing my life span: Echinacea: a Miracle Herb against Aging and Cancer? Evidence In vivo in Mice) If you can find any Echinacea locally, take it. Herb Pharm is a company you might be able to find in a local Health Food Store and they have top quality herbal products. If you can find the root 'bulk', then get some of that and make a very strong tea...even if it's not organic or top quality, it's likely better than nothing.
(Note: In 13 years of being married, between us, Rocky and I have had "3 colds and 1 flu"...and all those were B.E. (Before Echinacea --back when we were only knew to megadose with Vitamin C). We have not had a cold or the flu since starting to use Echinacea. The "secret" to it's efficacy is to start taking it at the very first tiny symptom -that's precisely when our own immune system is starting to fight- If we give our immune system lots of "ammo" at the very first sign of the invader, then it's a VERY easy fight to win. Echinacea is still a benefit no matter when it's taken (our immune army needs reinforcements, particularly when it's getting whooped), but we can knock out virtually anything in just a few hours if we take it/enough before the invaders have a chance to start multiplying).
--If you want to be more aggressive, now would be the time to do a Cold Sheet Treatment (but you need someone with you, and you likely don't have all the herbs you need): http://curezone.com/schulze/handbook/hyperthermia.asp
--Whatever you do, do NOT take anything to "break the fever" - a fever is evidence of our immune system working exponetially harder & faster. Break the fever, you stop the immune system from functioning normally & effectively (yes, we HAVE been lied to).
Thanks - 'Welcome. Healthiest of blessings!
Uny
Thanks Uny for answering that lol. You are the research QUEEN for sure!
Now I'm going to have to find out exactly what a "cytokine storm" is and what can causes it.
I'm off to research now lol.
Blessings.
