Hello,
I'm just starting to work with Body Electronics, but have a long background with bodywork and organic growing - which I hope will give me a head start.
I want to set up a support network and exchange posts with people here on a regular basis - or perhaps have a set time of the week for an online 'meeting'.
My first post is about point holding -something I did today for the first time, although I have used acupressure in my practice for 16 years now.
I'm very excited about experimenting with the idea that healing will continue as long as there are minerals available to support regeneration. I'm also very curious about the effect of holding a point past the 'still point' stage. Still point is when there is a natural quieting at point of contact that tells me that the work is done - typically still point signifies that correction has been made and most of the time (90%) the subsequent testing shows that that's happened - there is pain reduction and/or increased range of motion.
Today I used point holding for 6 minutes and 42 minutes respectively.
In the first case for hip pain which was relieved by about 30%. What was unusual (for me at least) was that at about the 3 minute stage - where I typically get bored - I felt instead a steadying and a sense of well-being in my belly. The client reported something similar. At about the 4 minute mark she started to laugh because her leg started to move on it's own - muscle contractions. After six minutes I had her walk to test and that's when she reported a significant improvement.
In the second case I worked on a foot bunion. A 22 minute holding and a 20 minute one. The client had a lot of energetic discharge - with the body jerking around. Afterwards she felt a substantial difference in the shape and texture around the big toe joint. As this pain is not regular, I still don't know how much of an improvement was created.
